An Arizona Feeling by Stillwagon An Arizona Feeling by Stillwagon
18x24" Acrylic on canvas, no particular venue in mind and no reference material. After spending a lot of time alone in the desert, I went on a painting binge and had a one-man show of 25 southwest/visionary style paintings, ironically, when I returned to Florida.

Aahhh... Another shitty day in paradise! Very nice work, this is my mecca.
Some find it difficult to see the amazing colors here... You don't seem to suffer this, beautiful. Definite :+fav:

There is something really attractive about this piece to me. Despite the earthly shades you employed here, the composition of the piece makes me almost envisioning a mountain or a castle that is floating in the sky, bathed with clouds. There is a fantastical quality about this, yet it faintly reminds me of chinese calligraphical art, as indeed, Chinese paintings love to use cliffs and mountains as their subjects.

Great job here. :)

What a beautiful painting...I was just going back through all the favorites I have--and came across your picture again. Such a feeling of beauty and peace. Thank you.

Hmm, I like the shamans call as well, but also love this one. Is there room for two loves? ^^

Again, this is beautiful, detailed, but also seeming smacking of impressionism. The rocks in the foreground remind me of some finer chinese paintings I have seen. Such pretty colors. The best part is the image of the soaring bird in the background. Almost like an eagle or hawk flying in the first rays of morning.
